Since the establishment of the first free trade zone in Shanghai over a decade ago, the number of China's free trade zones has expanded to 22. John Gong, vice president of Research and Strategy at the University of International Business and Economics–Israel, emphasizes that these zones play a vital role in promoting both imports and exports. He further highlights that the free trade zone model has been a hallmark of success in China's history of economic opening up.
