Me@China: British vlogger's take on 'Ren'

The 10th Nishan Forum on World Civilizations kicks off on July 10 in Qufu, east China's Shandong Province, with the theme "Traditional Culture and Modern Civilization." After visiting the Confucius Museum and the Nishan Sacred Land, British vlogger Jason Lightfoot was deeply impressed. He said that what moved him most was the unique understanding of the concept of ren (benevolence) in Confucianism. In Aristotelian philosophy, there are similar concepts, but the Confucian interpretation of the core value of ren is profound and thought-provoking. Through this experience, Jason has gained a new knowledge and understanding of Confucianism. On his next trip, to the Nishan Forum, he will learn more about the essence of Confucianism and gain new insights into the collision of ideological dialogue.
