Coral reefs are a vital component of the marine ecosystem. In China, coral reefs are concentrated in the South China Sea. Protecting this "underwater tropical rainforest" has always been a challenge. Now, however, a biomimetic robot in the shape of a manta ray, developed by Northwestern Polytechnical University, is making things easier.
