The 10th Nishan Forum on World Civilizations kicks off on July 10 in Qufu, east China's Shandong Province, with the theme "Traditional Culture and Modern Civilization." British vlogger Jason Lightfoot visited Nishan, the birthplace of Confucius, to explore the wisdom of Confucianism. In this episode, he visits the Hall of Great Learning in the Nishan Sacred Land, which has five halls themed on Confucius' five constant virtues of benevolence or ren, righteousness or yi, propriety or li, wisdom or zhi, and sincerity or xin. As he strolled through the Hall of Xin, he realized that both Confucian thoughts and Western culture emphasize the importance of integrity. Confucius stressed cultivating an upright, self-disciplined and trustworthy character that resonates profoundly with Western values.
