Tensions between China and the Philippines have increased in the South China Sea this year. Earlier this month, the Philippines reportedly attempted to deliver building materials, believed to be cement, to its stationed Coast Guard in Chin's Xianbin Reef. It was just the latest example of Manila increasing its activities in the waters, part of a playbook Beijing calls illegal. Reporter Zhou Jiaxin brings us this take on the roots of the issue.
