China's film regulators on Tuesday released the list of movies for the country's summer season, offering a sizzling mix of domestic and international films.

There is an impressive lineup of domestic Chinese productions, including the "Decoded," which has been adapted from Chinese writer Mai Jia's novel of the same name. The movie tells the story of mathematical genius Rong Jinzhen's life-long struggle.

Some of the movies tell heartwarming stories about ordinary people's everyday life. "Red Radio Over Shanghai" utilizes dance drama to tell the gripping story of communist secret agents who guard crucial radio signals with their life, while "Upstream" takes a poignant look at the lives of a unique group of people – deliverymen.

This summer, fans can also look forward to the return of Gru, Lucy and the Minions in "Despicable Me 4." Comic fans will be thrilled to see "Deadpool & Wolverine" team up again. Animation lovers won't be left out either, with the return of Garfield and his crew in "The Garfield Family."

The season also promises high-octane thrills. Sci-fi fans can brace for the terror of "A Quiet Place: Day One," while "Bad Boys: Ride or Die" brings back the explosive duo of Will Smith and Martin Lawrence. And disaster flick enthusiasts can experience the fury of nature in "Twisters."

Lu Liang, deputy head of the China Film Administration, expects this summer's wide range of choices to draw in moviegoers and extend the industry's current boom.
