The 21st summer camp held by the All-China Federation of Taiwan Compatriots for Taiwan students is underway on the mainland, and some 1,500 college students from the island are participating. The summer activity starts in the city of Fuzhou in southeast China's Fujian Province. However, the campers will also travel to other provinces to meet people there and create new experiences. The journey is just the beginning of what many students hope will help overcome obstacles in ties between both sides of the Taiwan Straits and deepen the common cultural identity.
