Jixia Academy, established over 2,000 years ago, is believed to be one of the first state-run higher learning institutions, hosting various schools of thought. As the Tenth Nishan Forum on World Civilizations draws to a close, Ong Tee Keat, president of the Belt and Road Initiative Caucus for Asia Pacific, said the Forum has the potential to grow into a modern-day equivalent of Jixia Academy. "The wealth of wisdom from our forefathers provides a strong foundation for creating similar entities with modern interpretations," Ong stated.
