Bome County in Nyingchi City, located in southwest China's Xizang Autonomous Region, boasts one of the country's largest growing stock volumes, consisting of vast stretches of virgin forests.

Most people tend to associate snow-covered highlands with an inclement climate and a lack of greenery. So, how does this magnificent forest exist in such a land? The county is situated along the Yarlung Zangbo River. Warm, damp vapor from the Indian Ocean travels through the Yarlung Zangbo Grand Canyon, creating a unique subtropical semi-humid climate zone, which allows the dense forest to thrive.

Check out the breathtaking views there.
