China Media Group (CMG) on Friday held a departing ceremony in Beijing for its broadcasting team covering the 2024 Summer Olympic Games that will begin on July 26 in Paris.

Shen Haixiong, vice minister of the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and president of CMG, vice presidents Hu Jinjun and Xing Bo, attended the ceremony.

In his speech, Shen pointed out that the year 2024 marks the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China (PRC) and the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and France. Therefore, the Olympic Games is an important occasion for the Chinese athletes to display their sports spirit.  He called on the broadcasting team to make its utmost efforts and strive for excellence in the coverage of the 2024 Olympic Games.

According to Shen, CMG's cooperation with international sports organizations has reached its historic best. It will take the 2024 Paris Olympics as a great opportunity to further deepen its concept of combining ideology, art and technology in media convergence. CMG will continue to display its advantages in producing breaking, exclusive and original news, apply its cutting-edge technologies including artificial intelligence and 8K ultra high definition in producing international public signals.
