Named one of China's "beautiful leisure villages," Sanhe Village in southwest China's Chongqing has benefitted from road development initiatives, increasing access to the destination.
Sanhe Village made it on to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs' 2023 list of China's Beautiful Leisure Villages, exemplifying how road development can drive rural revitalization.
With the development of rural roads in the area that "are well built, managed, maintained and operated," the village has introduced 47 industrial projects in the fields of culture and tourism, such as the Sanhe Art Gallery and Banshan Lacquer.
Its convenient transport infrastructure promotes not only the export of local agricultural products, but also the rise of rural tourism, forming a new pattern of cultural tourism and agricultural development based on showcasing local art and craftworks, study tours, leisure and sightseeing, and homestay hospitality.
