Donald Trump was whisked off the stage at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania after apparent gunshots rang through the crowd.

The former U.S. president was showing off a chart of border crossing numbers when bangs started ringing out. Trump, also the Republican presidential candidate in 2024, could be seen reaching with his right hand toward his ear. There appeared to be blood on his face.

Trump's campaign said he was "fine" and being "checked out" at a local medical facility. The shooter has died, according to Butler County District Attorney Richard Goldinger, adding that one spectator was killed in the incident and another was in serious condition.
