There's been new criticism of the United States' move to enact the Resolve Tibet Act. On July 12, U.S. President Joe Biden signed into law a bill that purports to enhance America's support for Xizang. Dai Ruijun, a professor of international law at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, told CGTN that the act negates and distorts the achievements of human rights protection in Xizang.

The U.S. claims the move does not change its policy on recognizing Xizang as part of China's territory, but the law authorizes the use of funds to counter what Washington calls "disinformation" about Xizang from Beijing. Dai says the law is designed to create trouble and curb China's development.
