China's gross domestic product (GDP) grew by 5 percent year on year in the first half of 2024, data from the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) showed on Monday.
According to preliminary estimates, the country's GDP in the first half of 2024 reached 61.68 trillion yuan (about $8.65 trillion). In the second quarter, China's GDP expanded by 4.7 percent year on year, said the NBS.
