Originating from north China's Shanxi Province and renowned for its fine texture, lustrous sheen, intricate designs and motifs, and vibrant colors, Lu Silk is considered one of China's most famous silk traditions along with Hangzhou Satin and Sichuan Brocade.
Lu Silk production in Shanxi dates back to ancient times. The tradition of sericulture and silk weaving has been meticulously preserved and passed down through generations, evolving with modern aesthetics to maintain its enduring vitality.
In recognition of its cultural significance, the weaving technique of Lu Silk was included in the national intangible cultural heritage list in 2014.
