Visa-free agreements between China and several countries have contributed to a steady increase in the number of foreign tourists to China. In the first half of this year, 14.64 million foreigners entered the country, a year-on-year increase of 152.7 percent. Among them, 8.54 million entered visa-free, accounting for 52 percent of the total, a year-on-year increase of 190.1 percent.
