The Spanish national team on Monday visited the Zarzuela Palace, home of country's King Felipe VI, and the Moncloa Palace, the official residence of Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez, before attending an open top bus parade through Madrid to celebrate their victory at Euro 2024.

Having won all seven of their games at the European Championship in Germany, including beating England 2-1 in the final on Sunday, Spain lifted the Henri Delaunay Trophy for a record fourth time in 2024 after doing so in 1964, 2008 and 2012.

"Given the brilliance that Lamine Yamal has gifted us at the age of 16, there's not really much to add," King Felipe VI said. He watched the title win at the Olympiastadion in Berlin on Sunday.

"We want a lot," Sanchez said. "We want more."

Rafael Nadal, 22-time Grand Slam champion of Spain, also praised the success of "La Roja."

"I think the Spanish team played amazing from the first day of the Euros to the last. The whole country is very proud," Nadal said.

The national team paraded through the center of Madrid and arrived at Plaza Cibeles where they were joined by tens of thousands of fans.

"We're champions of Europe! I've been proud to be captain of this team," Alvaro Morata said when he presented the trophy. "Sometimes I score [goals], and sometimes I don't, but I promise you that I've given everything to win this European Championship … I hope you enjoyed it as much as we did. It was magical."

Spain's midfielder Rodri was named Player of the Tournament for his performance at Euro 2024. Yamal won the Best Young Player award with tournament-high four assists.
