A fleet of six 8K ultra-high-definition (UHD) live broadcast vans from China Media Group (CMG) arrived at Stade de France – the national stadium of France – in Paris on Tuesday to begin preparations with the Olympic Broadcasting Services (OBS) to bring the Games live to the world.

The fleet left northern Paris in the morning and took the scenic route along the Avenue de la Grande-Armee, past the Arc de Triomphe, along the Avenue des Champs-Elysees, and past the Eiffel Tower on the left bank of the Seine.

Some of the vans were carrying equipment to CMG's outdoor broadcast studio near the Eiffel Tower, while the state-of-the-art live event broadcast vans were handed over to the OBS at Stade de France.

The fleet drew the attention of both overseas Chinese and Parisians, who captured the unusual sight on their phone cameras.

"I'm very excited to see China covering the Olympic Games in Paris. I told every Chinese I know about this, because I feel China is very strong," said Zhang Ruixuan, a Chinese national living in France.

"I was so thrilled when I saw the red vans coming, with Beijing license plates. I felt China is really strong. It's very good," said Li Jie, a Chinese student in France.

"This is a beautiful surprise. Our Chinese friends have come to Paris, promoting the city as the focus of world sports on the occasion of the Olympics. This is wonderful. CMG's broadcast vans have passed by the Eiffel Tower, Champs-Elysees, Arc de Triomphe, and more. We are thrilled. This is fantastic. Thank you very much," said Paris resident Yaghi Hami.

The live broadcast vans will provide a global audience with 8K UHD signals of the Olympic track and field events, as well as the closing ceremony, making Paris 2024 the first Summer Olympics in history with an 8K UHD public broadcast signal.

As a leading broadcaster and the international media organization with the most broadcasting rights for the Paris Olympic Games, CMG is set to orchestrate its largest-scale Olympic Games coverage to date.

The Paris Olympic Games is scheduled to take place from July 26 to August 11, with the Paralympics following soon after from August 28 to September 8.
