Many parts of China are intensifying emergency response measures to persistent heavy rains. Heavy rains hit areas south of Yellow and Huaihe rivers, especially in Henan, Shandong, Jiangsu and Anhui provinces, with precipitation exceeding 250 millimeters.
The National Flood Control and Drought Relief Headquarters activated a Level-4 emergency response for both Shandong and Henan.
