French President Emmanuel Macron met with International Olympic Committee (IOC) President Thomas Bach and Paris 2024 head Tony Estanguet at the Elysee Palace in Paris on Tuesday. The meeting took place with France set to open the Olympics on July 26.

According to reports, Macron and Bach were set to discuss their common mobilization for the benefit of respecting the Olympic truce as well as for the contribution of sport to the sustainable development objectives.

The final attribution of the 2030 Olympic Winter Games to the French Alps would also be discussed.

Meanwhile, Bach also visited France's National Institute of Sport, Expertise, and Performance (INSEP) training center on Tuesday. The INSEP is an Olympic and Paralympic training and preparation site for international athletes in France and 50 percent of France's Olympic medals are won by athletes who have trained there.

Bach watched training and greeted the athletes, saying everything is ready and the Organizing Committee is doing a great job.

"Everything is ready. The Organizing Committee is making a great job under the leadership of my dear friend Tony Estanguet. So everything is prepared. What we could see there today, the French team, which is also very important for the success of games under the leadership of David Lappartient, is in good shape," said Bach.
