Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo swam in the Seine River with top Olympic officials amid water quality concerns ahead of the Paris Olympics.
This act was part of efforts to showcase the river's improved cleanliness. Organizers have invested $1.5 billion since 2015 to ensure the river is ready for the Games, constructing a water storage basin, renovating sewers and upgrading treatment plants.
