From frisbee, kayaking and cycling to diving, rock climbing and jazz dancing, sports that may feel offbeat and unfamiliar have emerged as "new favorites" among young generations. Their low participation thresholds and social characteristics appeal to many young people. Once a niche sport, rock climbing has become a favored leisure activity among the youth in China.
