Created by French designer Mathieu Lehanneur, the Paris 2024 Olympic Torch Relay cauldron invites people to get together, share and celebrate. It takes the form of a ring of fire suspended above a water-like surface, symbolizing the torch's journey across the Mediterranean to France. The upper part of the cauldron features an almost floating ring with pure lines, representing fraternity and the spirit of peace.

In contrast, the design of the cauldron for the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics was inspired by an ancient Chinese bronze vessel known as "He Zun." The harmonious blend of red and silver signifies the fusion of tradition and modernity, passion and innovation. Echoing the torch's design, a fluttering red ribbon spirals upward, conveying the idea of harmony and bringing people together.
