Seafaring tales: Fu ships

In centuries past, transporting goods along the Maritime Silk Road was a hazardous undertaking. Ships often faced fierce storms which blew up on the high seas. To reduce the danger, Chinese ship-builders came up with a solution. They developed Fu ships, commonly known as junks, which incorporated a special watertight bulkhead technology. Their revolutionary design allowed the ships to withstand the highest winds and roughest waters.
