Israel's Defense Minister Yoav Gallant vowed to "settle the score" after a civilian was killed on Friday in a drone attack on Tel Aviv claimed by Yemen's Houthi group.

Gallant said he had ordered a "strengthening of air defense systems" at a meeting of military chiefs and added, "The security system will settle the score with all who try to harm the state of Israel, or sends terrorism against it, in a decisive and surprising manner," in comments released on social media platform X .

Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Sarea said the strike was carried out with a new drone called Yaffa, which is capable of bypassing interception systems.

It's reported no air raid sirens were activated in Israel during the attack, and Israel Defense Forces spokesman Daniel Hagari said the military was still investigating why the aerial defense systems did not intercept the aircraft or trigger the sirens.
