South Korea said it will resume operations of loudspeakers against the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) on all fronts after Pyongyang on Sunday again floated trash-filled balloons across the border, Yonhap News Agency reported. 

"As we have warned numerous times, we will conduct loudspeaker broadcasts in full-scale at all fronts starting from 1 p.m.," South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) was quoted as saying by Yonhap on Sunday. 

Since May, the DPRK has floated thousands of balloons carrying bags of trash to South Korea. The trash balloons have become a new source of tension between the two countries, with Seoul calling the act "despicable, shameful and vulgar."

The DPRK had said its move was in retaliation for a propaganda campaign by South Korean activists, who regularly launch helium-filled balloons to drop anti-Pyongyang leaflets and USB sticks loaded with K-pop music videos and dramas.

In early June, South Korea announced the suspension of a military agreement with the DPRK and resumed anti-Pyongyang broadcasts through its border loudspeakers for the first time in six years.
