China's second homegrown large cruise ship will use Guangzhou Nansha International Cruise Home Port in south China's Guangdong Province as its home port for operation, according to a release by China State Shipbuilding Corporation Limited on Tuesday.

The cruise ship operator, Adora Cruises, signed a cooperation agreement with the port, agreeing to jointly promote Guangzhou's cruise industry, as well as explore the south China market.

"The Guangzhou Nansha International Cruise Home Port boasts a shoreline of 770 meters. Among China's domestic cruise home ports, it has the most port inspection channels, with the largest coverage and best conditions for passengers' waiting hall," said Hua Chi, manager of the general office at Guangzhou Nansha International Cruise Home Port.

Adora Cruises will later finish the ship's cruise route design, enriching customers' travel options. "After the second large cruise ship settles down in Guangzhou, we will improve our products, so as to showcase the culture of Lingnan area as well Guangzhou's distinctiveness. The ship will have a larger space and better facilities. It will mainly run on routes to South Asia and Southeast Asia, echoing the Adora Magic City cruise ship," said Yang Guobing, chairman of Adora Cruises with CSSC Cruise Technology Development Co., Ltd.

For now, the second homegrown large cruise ship is undergoing final assembly and will be delivered by the end of 2026. It will be put into operation for international routes in 2027.
