Chinese President Xi Jinping on Tuesday sent a congratulatory message to Paul Kagame on his reelection as Rwandan president.

Noting that Rwanda is a traditional friendly country of China, Xi pointed out that, in recent years, relations between the two countries have been developing rapidly, with fruitful cooperation in various fields and deepening traditional friendship.

The Chinese president said he is willing to work with President Kagame to further enhance mutual political trust between the two sides, expand and deepen practical cooperation in various fields and push relations between the two countries to a new level.
