Representatives of 14 Palestinian factions jointly signed the Beijing declaration on Tuesday on ending division and strengthening Palestinian national unity. According to a global online survey conducted by CGTN, as many as 92.81 percent of the global respondents commend China's sincere effort to support the rights of the Palestinians, end division and bring about a unified position among the Palestinian factions, saying that China set a new example for resolving contradictions and differences through dialogue and consultation.

In the Beijing Declaration signed by the Palestinian factions, the parties agreed to establish an interim national reconciliation government and carry out reconstruction in Gaza.

In the survey, 87.23 percent of the global respondents said they believe that reconciliation among Palestinian factions is conducive to promoting an early end to the conflict between Palestine and Israel and thus promoting regional peace and stability. China has always supported Palestinian factions in achieving internal reconciliation and strengthening Palestinian national unity through dialogue and consultation.

In the poll, 91.63 percent of the respondents agree with China's proposition. Meanwhile, 90.55 percent of the respondents believe that China's support of peaceful development has received more recognition than some countries' actions to foment conflicts in the Middle East. Another 87.25 percent of them say that mankind is an indivisible security community and agree with the common, comprehensive, cooperative and sustainable security concept advocated by China.

China has always played a constructive role in easing tensions in the Middle East, from promoting the restoration of diplomatic relations between Saudi Arabia and Iran to facilitating the reconciliation of Palestinian factions.

According to the survey, 89.64 percent of the respondents acknowledge China's adherence to political settlement of hot-spot conflicts and believe that China has played an active, well-intentioned and reliable role as a mediator. Meanwhile, 90.15 percent of the respondents say that China actively promotes the resolution of geopolitical differences and plays an increasingly important role in global governance.

"China has defended international fairness and justice in a moderate way and played an important role as an example for the international community!" a social media user said.

The poll, published by CGTN in English, Spanish, French, Arabic and Russian, received responses from 10,592 people within 24 hours.
