The Chinese mainland says it firmly opposes the Democratic Progressive Party authorities' separatist provocations. State Council Taiwan Affairs Office spokesperson Zhu Fenglian says Taiwan leader Lai Ching-te's actions have seriously challenged the one-China principle and harmed the well-being of compatriots. The spokesperson made the remarks on Wednesday in response to a "mainland military threat" statement from Taiwan's Mainland Affairs Council.
