China's national table tennis team held a training session on Tuesday at South Paris Arena 4, the venue for the sport during the 2024 Summer Olympics in the French capital.

Chinese players will participate in all five table tennis events (men's singles, women's singles, men's team, women's team and mixed doubles) as the defending champions in four of those divisions from the pandemic-delayed Tokyo Games in 2021.

The mixed doubles gold was the only title China failed to claim three years ago in the Japanese capital. With an eye on returning to the top of the podium in that category, the team is sending its top pair of Sun Yingsha and Wang Chuqin to compete in Paris.

After finishing their singles training sessions, the duo played practice matches with Zhou Qihao and He Zhuojia, as well as Liu Dingshuo and Wang Tianyi, with mixed doubles coach Xiao Zhan observing them and providing instructions from time to time.

The table tennis competitions at the 2024 Paris Summer Olympics will begin on Saturday and run through August 10. The five finals will take place on July 30 (mixed doubles), August 3 (women's singles), August 4 (men's singles), August 9 (men's team) and August 10 (women's team).
