The torch relay for the 2024 Paris Summer Olympics went through the Palace of Versailles in Yvelines on Tuesday.
French equestrian competitor Laure Guilhaume rode on her horse from the front courtyard and down the main pathway, before lighting the torch at the front of the palace.
A total of 175 people carried the torch on Tuesday, including two-time Olympic judo champion Shohei Ono of Japan, French sprinter Bruno Marie-Rose, Brazilian football player Souza Vieira de Oliveira and France men's football national team coach Didier Deschamps.
French tennis player Caroline Garcia was the day's final torchbearer and she lit the cauldron at the historic celebration venue in Versailles.
The torch will go through the suburbs of Nanterre on Wednesday and Seine Saint-Denis on Thursday. It will then travel back to Paris on Friday for the Opening Ceremony.
