Chinese scientists have found water molecules in lunar soil samples collected by the Chang'e-5 mission in 2020. Researchers from the Institute of Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, along with scholars from several renowned Chinese universities, discovered ULM-1, a mineral crystal enriched with water molecules and ammonium.
Experts say there are greater chances for humans to use lunar resources if such hydrated minerals are found in abundance.
