Summer rain recently swept across Baoying Lotus Garden in Yangzhou, east China's Jiangsu Province. The lotus flowers sway in the wind, forming a unique summer picture as the rain fall. Water droplets hit the lotus leaves, like pearls on jade plates. After the rain, the lotus flowers glisten under the sunshine, attracting streams of tourists. Baoying County has been named the "Hometown of Lotus Roots in China" by the Ministry of Agriculture for its beautiful natural environment, complete industrial chain and unique lotus root culture. The river network here is densely covered, with the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal running through. The five lakes and four ponds are like nine pearls embedded in this fertile land. In the height of summer, the dense lotus leaves spread out from the center in all directions, until the sky and earth merge into one color, forming a spectacular scene.
