Huishan clay figurines are made from the black clay found at the foot of Huishan Mountain in Wuxi, east China's Jiangsu Province. Featuring joyous facial expressions, bright colors, plump shapes and lively lines, the figurines are infused with Wuxi people's hopes for a happy and abundant life. The craft has a history of over 400 years. Listed in the first batch of China's national intangible cultural heritage in 2006, Huishan clay figurines are a top souvenir choice for many tourists visiting Wuxi.
