23 people, including 19 children, were rescued by authorities in Pingtan in east China after they got stranded on rocky outcroppings. They were pulled away by treacherous waters whipped by a looming typhoon on Tuesday. The maritime police successfully ferried the stranded people to the safety of their patrol boats and then to land. All the people rescued are in good health.
