China Media Group (CMG) has held a series of "World Opportunities in Deepening China's Reform in the New Era" roundtables in countries including Italy, Germany and France recently, as well as special sessions in South Africa and Zambia on July 24, with guests from the political, business, academic and media sectors taking part. 

They exchanged views on topics including the global significance of the third plenary session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), exchanges and mutual learning among civilizations, and the new opportunities arising from China's comprehensive deepening reform.

CMG President Shen Haixiong delivered a speech through video link to the special sessions held in South Africa and Zambia. He said that the third plenary session of the 20th Central Committee of the CPC, which has garnered widespread global attention and has successfully concluded in Beijing, marks a milestone for China in the new era. 

Shen also said CMG has consistently told stories about China's reform and opening up, as well as the story of Chinese modernization. CMG builds bridges and links for dialogue and mutual exchange between China and the world, he added.

Oliviero Diliberto, Italy's former justice minister and dean of the Faculty of Law at the Sapienza University of Rome, stated that the world today faces numerous challenges and requires concerted cooperation among nations.

The third plenary session of the 20th Central Committee of the CPC emphasized that "Chinese modernization is the modernization of peaceful development," which holds significant practical importance and far-reaching impact, he added.

Arthur Mutambara, former deputy prime minister of Zimbabwe, also director of the Institute for the Future of Knowledge (IFK) at the University of Johannesburg (UJ) in South Africa, said that China's successful experiences have highlighted the significant role of technological innovation in the development of productivity. There are lessons to be learnt from China as Africa modernizes, he added.
