Explore the stunning scenery of Liyuan Garden

00:37

Surrounded by Lihu Lake on three sides, Liyuan Garden in Wuxi City, east China's Jiangsu Province, is one of the famous classical gardens in the country, featuring artificial bridges and pagodas dotted around small fishponds.

It is said that Lihu Lake got its name from Fan Li, who was a senior official in the ancient state of Yue and retired to his hometown after defeating the state of Wu. One afternoon, he went boating with Xi Shi, one of the most beautiful women in ancient China, and decided to name the lake after himself. The garden was later named Liyuan Garden.
