The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) Coalition of Organized Retail Employees (IAM CORE) reached a tentative agreement with Apple on Friday, focusing on work-life balance, pay raises and job security. Employees at the Apple retail store in Towson, Maryland, will vote on the agreement on August 6.

The proposed three-year deal includes a 10 percent average pay increase, limits on the use of contracted employees, a severance clause, improvements in work-life balance and rules on transparency. It also maintains all current benefits and includes an agreement to negotiate future additions.

Apple has yet to comment on the agreement.

In May 2024, workers at the Towson store voted to authorize a strike, marking a step in their efforts to address concerns over work-life balance, unpredictable scheduling practices and wages that do not align with the area's cost of living. This decision followed their move in June 2022, when they became the first Apple retail employees in the U.S. to unionize by joining IAM.
