The so-called Inter-Parliamentary Alliance on China (IPAC) is a small group of extreme anti-China elements that is trying to make provocations concerning the Taiwan question, said Chen Binhua, a spokesperson for the State Council Taiwan Affairs Office, on Wednesday.

Chen made the comments at a regular press briefing in response to a query, noting that China has repeatedly expressed strong opposition to the IPAC's claims.

The Taiwan question is an internal affair, and no external interference will be tolerated, Chen added, noting that United Nations General Assembly Resolution 2758 fully reflects and solemnly reaffirms the one-China principle.

Multiple civilian groups in Taiwan staged a protest in Taipei on Tuesday against IPAC's annual meeting.

Outside the venue hosting the meeting, protestors displayed banners against the organization. One of them stated, "The Taiwan question is China's internal affair, and non-interference in other countries' internal affairs is an international norm."
