In response to a call from the government, college students across China have been walking into the countryside to practice what they have learned from classrooms and learn more skills from the villagers during the summer break. The campaign is aimed at honing the young people's skills while promoting culture, science and technology and healthcare in the rural areas, according to a notice issued by the Ministry of Education in June.
