Liu Yukun won the men's 50-meter rifle 3 positions shooting final at the 2024 Paris Summer Olympics on Thursday, to earn China's 10th gold medal in the French capital. The 27-year-old's victory also marks the country's fourth gold in shooting at this year's Games.

Liu set the world record in the event when he scored 468.9 points at the ISSF World Cup in Baku, Azerbaijan, on May 11. He didn't break his world record in Paris, but his final score of 463.6 points was more than enough to edge Serhiy Kulish of Ukraine (461.3) by 2.3 points and win the title.

Swapnil Kusale of India secured the bronze medal with 451.4 points.
