Komil Boymurodov is the coach of Tajikistan's national Brazilian jiu-jitsu team. His father was a boxer, so Boymurodov and his brother were gradually influenced to have a passion for sports. Only two years after becoming a professional athlete, Boymurodov was able to compete in international competitions and win a silver medal at the World Professional Jiu-Jitsu Championship. Thanks to him, his nephew also became a professional athlete at the age of 14, and like his uncle, he has already won the world championship in jiu-jitsu three times.

"I have always dreamed that jiu-jitsu could become an Olympic sport," Boymurodov told CGTN, and his nephew also dreamed of becoming the first person to win a medal for Tajikistan at this prestigious event.
