Can young and old people share the same interest? For the Qian family living in Wuxi's Meicun in Jiangsu Province, it's the erhu, a traditional Chinese musical instrument that binds their four generations together.

The family's love of the erhu can be traced back to 90-year-old Qian Fuji's childhood. Now his 8-year-old great-grandson Qian Zhichen also took an interest in the instrument and joined in to play.

Often known by Westerners as the Chinese violin, the erhu – a two-stringed, bowed instrument – is very popular across China. Check out Qian family's melodic life stories and how they bond and resonate with the erhu.
