Twenty-six people from seven countries have been released in a far-reaching deal between Russia and the West, including the U.S., Germany and Poland. This is the biggest prisoner exchange since the end of the Cold War. Türkiye's intelligence agency coordinated a prisoner exchange operation in the capital, Ankara, on August 1. Ten of them have returned to Russia, where they were welcomed by Russian President Vladimir Putin at the airport in Moscow.
