Emergency resources, including helicopters and road repair crews, have been deployed to save stranded villagers and repair damaged infrastructure in Zixing City of central China's Hunan Province. The city has been hit hard by torrential rain brought by Typhoon Gaemi since July 26. As of Thursday noon, road traffic, electricity supply and telecommunication services in the eight townships of Zixing most affected by the typhoon had been restored, while search and rescue efforts had made significant progress.
