The UN says at least 5 people have been killed after continuous heavy downpours hit eastern and western parts of Sudan, triggering severe floods. The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs says more than 17,000 people have been affected since late July, with hundreds of houses destroyed.
