Settlements in the Kursk region were subjected to massive shelling from Ukraine on Tuesday, resulting in the deaths of two civilians and injuries to over a dozen others, acting governor of the Kursk region Alexey Smirnov said on Telegram.

One resident of Sudzha died and 13 others across several districts, including children, were injured and transferred to medical institutions, he said.

Smirnov also claimed a Ukrainian helicopter attacked a minibus not far from Nekhaevka village in the Rylsky district, killing the driver on the spot.

Ukraine did not immediately comment on the reports.
