The Russian Foreign Ministry said on Tuesday that it is expelling an employee of the Moldovan embassy in Moscow as a retaliatory measure.

The Moldovan chargé d'affaires was summoned to the Russian Foreign Ministry, and a protest was lodged against him due to Chisinau's anti-Russian actions, the Russian ministry said. 

Moldova expelled a Russian diplomat last week after the ex-Soviet country detained two of its own officials in a spy case linked to the Russian embassy in the capital.
