A fossilized giant panda dating back over 10,000 years was recently found in a limestone cave in northwest China's Shaanxi Province. Over 90 percent of the panda's skull is intact, and other skeletal remains are 70 percent complete. By analyzing the structure of the fossilized skull, the teeth, and the sagittal crest, experts have initially classified the fossil as belonging to an adult giant panda, likely a female.
